While Flying to Bhutan on a clear day the panoramic views of the Himalaya’s which are sensational, including Everest, but particularly exciting is the approach through the Bhutanese foothills and the landing, including a few steep turns to land at the tiny airstrip of Paro. We are not holding any rooms. • It is mandatory to carry photo ID card while you are on tour. • For Indian adults (those 18 years and plus, Indian passport or Indian election ID) accepted and for  child/student 17 years and below accompanying their parents be allowed to travel in Birth Certificates. Incase if school going kids, school ID should be shown as well. • Any denominations of Indian Rupees are accepted in Bhutan however banks in Bhutan do not accept notes of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 • Bhutan recently started Biometric system at the immigration check points where all the guests have to give finger prints. • Taking pictures inside the alters of the Dzongs (fortress), temples and monasteries is strictly prohibited. Get permission before you take the pictures of the people and religious items. • Take off your hats in front of the Dzongs, temples and national flags. • Visitors should be properly dressed with long sleeves shirts and pants to visit Dzongs, temples, monasteries, schools and any government institutions. • Always walk clockwise well crossing the Dzongs, temples, monasteries, prayer flags or religious artifacts. • Please do not forget to check your arrival / departure dates, time, sector and email one day prior to your arrival in Bhutan. • Smoking in public places is not allowed in Bhutan. • Buying of antiques from Bhutan is strictly monitored by the custom at the check points. Please always buy goods with cash memo or original bills/invoices. • Rates are as per the itinerary and no vehicle will be given on disposal. ITINERARY

    ARRIVAL PARO Arrival in Paro & transfer to Thimphu (55 km/ 02 hour drive) Once you arrive in Paro, you will be received by our representative and guide who will transfer you to your hotel in Thimphu. Upon arrival, proceed for check-in at your hotel. Depending on arrival time, we can proceed for city sightseeing or relax in the hotel. Visit interesting weekend market (Thu-Sun). Vegetable vendors from different pockets of the country come to sell their products.

    THIMPHU SIGHTSEEING Thimphu Sightseeing: In the morning we will visit Handmade paper mill, School of Arts and crafts (closed on Sundays, government holidays) where students learn 13 different arts used predominantly in Bhutan. We will also visit nearby folk heritage museum and National Library before lunch. After lunch, drive pass by Memorial Chorten built in memory of the 3rd King. Visit Buddha viewpoint, Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the valley, Enclosure where national animal, Takin are kept and Zilukha Nunnery. Overnight in Thimphu

    THIMPHU TO PUNAKHA Thimphu to Punakha (75 km/ 2 ½ hrs): Today’s drive passes through Dochula pass at 3150 making the most beautiful pass in Bhutan. 108 Druk Wangyel Chortens built over the pass by queen mother in 2003 marks the pass more important than another passes. When the weather permits one can enjoy a spectacular view of the highest mountains of Bhutan at a sight that stretches almost 180 degrees. After a photo break, we will continue our drive to warm valley of Punakha. On arrival, check into the hotel. Afternoon, we will visit the most beautiful Punakha Dzong, which houses the most elaborated temple in the country. The Dzong, showcase the finest example of the arts and crafts of Bhutan.     PUNAKHA SIGHTSEEING Punakha: RAFTING IN PHO CHU AND MO CHU RIVERS (II+ to IV class River – approx 2-3 hours): On arrival proceed for a rafting adventure. Mo chu river originating in the mountainous hills of Northern Bhutan and Pho Chu river fed by Glaciers in upper Punakha glacial valley offer tremendous rafting opportunity. The Pho Chu river, with its approx 16 km course with about 15 rapids of class 2-4 and Mo Chu river with 10 Km course with 10 rapids of class 2 - 2+ are chosen for our white water rafting packages in Bhutan. After the confluence of these two rivers near Punakha Dzong, the main river is known as Puna Tsang chu which offers even more exciting river run acknowledged mostly for its culturally stimulating and exciting rapids. During this meticulously organized river rafting trip, you journey through the most scenic and secluded miles featuring incredibly blue water, breath-taking alpine scenery, sighting world’s rarest birds and amazing rapids on the backdrop of striking 17th century Punakha Dzong. Back at hotel Overnight at the hotel in Punakha IMPORTANT NOTE: (River Rafting Subject to Weather conditions) In case of non operation of River Rafting we will refund the price changed for River Rafting only.

    PUNAKHA TO PARO Punakha to Paro (130Kms 4hrs): We will retrace the drive back to Paro. En route we will visit Chimi Lhakhang on foot, the temple of fertility associated with religious art of phallus. Afternoon we will visit National Museum, the first of its kind which has a collection from natural history to religious paintings. Visit 17 century Paro Dzong (Fortress) on foot and continue walking through the oldest wooden bridge still in use. Visit Kichu Lhakhang, one from the two oldest temples built in 7th century. Evening stroll old Paro town and peep into some local handicrafts stores. Overnight in Paro, altitude 2200m.
